Thank You, Thank You
Thank you, thank you, that we are given life.
that we are living by a law that sets us free from laws.
teach us that this is not some ghastly contradiction;
an illusion of liberty wrapt in chains.
but rather, let our hears embrace this learning;
this, the paradox of grace.
And thank you, thank you that we are given cause
a cause that lets us step down from our high seat
and yield it to the one that made it.
and in doing so, let us see that we have traded
poor judgment for an impoverished spirit
for without our immense and arrogant robes we begin to see how malnurished we are
we need you to feed us.
So thank you, thank you that we are given means
the means to serve those we once condemed
let our hands let go of the wounded selfishness we craddle,
and take up instead the cause of the oppressed.
in our world, in our country, on our doorstep.
For though we are foolish judges,
we have been given the tools instead to become healers
treating all injury, bandaiging all wounds,
and curing all afflictions with the salve of mercy.
