PEG (Parent Enrichment Group)

October 3rd, 2005 by admin

What is PEG? The Parent Enrichment Group (PEG) meets weekingly at Next Church. Our purpose is to enjoy each other’s company, connect with new people, and share ideas about parenting, relationships, personal and spiritual growth. While parents have adult discussion, our kids enjoy a safe a fun kids program with other care givers. Previous topis of discussion have included tuning into our kids emotions, managing personal finances, toilet training, and alternative education.

Who is it for? PEF is for parents and their infants, toddlers and preschoolers age five and under. We started as a group of parents from Next Church, and grew to include some of our friends.

Why does it exist? Parenting is one of life’s most challenging callings! We need the strength of a supportive community for encouragement, enjoyment, and mutual learning. PEG ends our isolation, gives a space for us to share stories, and provides a safe and enjoyable environment for our kids to play and learn together.

How does it work?
The program is planned by our members. We choose interesting topics and put them on a weekly schedule. We identify leaders-both from within and outside the group-to lead discussion. We take turns providing snacks, and organizing clean-up. We hire experienced people who love kids and enjoy stories, crafts and songs to lead our children’s program.

Thursday morning | 9:30 to 11:00am
